(A Grown-Up Fairy Tale?)

CAST

Jennifer Ching (Mother Magee) This is Jennifer’s fourth season with PTC. Last summer, she performed the title role in Nurse Jane Goes to Hawaii. In PTC’s production of Rumors, she performed the role of Cookie Cusack, and in Welcome to the Monkey House, she played both Mary and Dr. Susan Baker. Jennifer is from Darlingford, and graduated from Nellie McClung Collegiate in Manitou, where she performed in Crazy For You, Bye Bye Birdie, and The Wizard of Oz. Jennifer is an Honours History student at the University of Winnipeg.
Molly Dunbar (Rosey Snow) Molly is making her first appearance with PTC this season. She is a 2006 graduate of Morris High School, where she performed in Can’t Take It With You, Number the Stars, and Rock Around the Block. Molly is currently a student at the University of Manitoba.
Natashia Durand (Mrs. Snow) Natashia is one of PTC’s veteran actors, having performed the role of Cassie in Rumors, as well as the roles of Mrs. Helmholtz and Marion in Welcome to the Monkey House. Natashia is a graduate of Morden Collegiate, where she performed in the musical Guys and Dolls. She is currently a student in the University of Manitoba’s theatre program, where this past year she performed the role of Ophelia in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.
Chris Gerbrandt (Prince Alf) This is Chris’ second season with PTC, having performed the role of Mr. Helmholtz in PTC’s 2004 production of Welcome to the Monkey House. Chris is a 2002 graduate of Morden Collegiate, where he performed the role of Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music. Chris has also been involved in numerous dinner theatre performances at the Morden Alliance Church. Having spent six months traveling in England and Australia, Chris got married last summer, and is currently employed as a Team Leader at Decor Cabinets.
Jaclyn Kozak (Regan) This is Jaclyn’s first appearance with PTC. As a Morden Collegiate student, she has performed in A Midsummer Night’s Fever, 1837: The Farmers’ Revolt, and Guys and Dolls. Jaclyn has also been involved as a writer and performer with the 24/7 drama project in Morden. In fall, Jaclyn will be entering her first year at the University of Manitoba, majoring in Journalism and Theatre.
Andrei Mardli (Troll) This is Andrei’s second season with PTC, having performed the role of Glen Cooper in the 2005 production of Rumors. Andrei is a 2006 graduate of Morden Collegiate, where he performed in productions of 1837: The Farmers’ Revolt, and Guys and Dolls. Andrei is currently a student at the University of Manitoba, where he is majoring in Geography.
Jeremy Rampton (Zed) Jeremy is a founding member of PTC, and is seen in his fourth performing role this season. He previously performed the role of Edgar Chisholm in Nurse Jane Goes to Hawaii, the role of Ken Gorman in Rumors, and the role of Newt in Welcome to the Monkey House. Jeremy is a graduate of Morden Collegiate, where he performed in A Christmas Carol, The Sound of Music, West of Pecos, The Lysistrata Project, Agatha Rex, Arthur, and Belonging. As a Drama major at the University of Manitoba, Jeremy’s stage credits include roles in The Man Who Wouldn’t Go To Heaven, and Beyond Therapy. His backstage credits at the U of M include stage manager for A Winter’s Tale and set designer for Footprints on the Moon.
Kaeleigh Schroeder (Goneril) For the last two years, Kaeleigh has been involved with PTC as poster designer for Nurse Jane Goes to Hawaii and Rumors. This year, Kaeleigh is seen for the first time in a performing role. As a Morden Collegiate student, Kaeleigh performed in productions of A Christmas Carol, Rememberin’ Stuff, The Lysistrata Project, Agatha Rex, Arthur, and Belonging. Kaeleigh is currently a fourth year Honours Sociology student at the University of Manitoba.
Reid Sloan (Mr. Snow) Reid is a founding member of PTC, and veteran of PTC productions. He performed the role of Bill Scant in Nurse Jane Goes to Hawaii, and the roles of Lew Harrison and Jim Donnini in Welcome to the Monkey House. In 2005, Reid directed PTC’s production of Rumors. Reid is a 2002 graduate of Morden Collegiate, where he performed in productions of The Sound of Music, West of Pecos, Grease, Agatha Rex, and Belonging. As a University of Manitoba student, Reid performed in Woody Allen’s God, and stage managed Caffé, by Winnipeg playwright Bruce McManus. Reid was also Assistant Stage Manager at the 2005 Juno Awards. In fall, Reid will be continuing his studies at the U of M in the Faculty of Education.

CREW

Lora Braun (Music/Sound Coordinator) This is Lora’s third season of involvement with PTC. In 2004, she designed a website for Welcome to the Monkey House, and in 2006, she was props coordinator for Nurse Jane Goes to Hawaii. This spring, Lora graduated from Canadian Mennonite University with a Bachelor in Music Therapy. During this past year, Lora performed in scenes from The Mikado and Susannah and the Elders as a participant in CMU’s Opera Workshop.
Margaret Dudgeon (Costume Coordinator) Margaret is a fourth year costuming veteran of PTC productions, having previously coordinated and designed costumes for Nurse Jane Goes to Hawaii, Rumors, and Welcome to the Monkey House. Margaret teaches at Garden Valley Collegiate where she has had the opportunity to coordinate costumes for several plays and musicals including Where’s Charlie and Oklahoma. Her last project at GVC, The Snow Goose, was a personal favourite. In recent years, Margaret has been
busy building her costume collection and designing dance costumes.
 
Denise Enns (Assistant Stage Manager, Stage Crew) This is Denise’s third season as a member of PTC’s valuable backstage crew, and her second year as Assistant Stage Manager. Denise is a 2003 graduate of Morden Collegiate, where she performed in productions of A Christmas Carol, The Sound of Music, The Lysistrata Project, Agatha Rex, Arthur, and Belonging. Denise is employed as a cabinet assembler at Decor Cabinets in Morden.  
Rhonda Friesen (Stage Manager) This is Rhonda’s third season as stage manager for PTC. Last year, she was stage manager for Nurse Jane Goes to Hawaii, and in 2004, she stage managed PTC’s production of Welcome to the Monkey House. Rhonda studied at the University of Manitoba where she graduated with a major in Theatre. Rhonda has performed at the University of Manitoba’s Black Hole Theatre in such roles as Jessie in ‘Night Mother and Amelia Earhart in Rabbit in the Moon. At the Winnipeg Fringe Festival, she performed in productions of King of Saturday Night, and Hungry for Fairyland. Rhonda has also performed with the comedy troupe Better Than a Kick in the Head, and most recently with The Company as Yvette in Clue. Rhonda has stage managed productions of Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All to You and Blitzkrieg at the Black Hole Theatre, and Three More Sleepless Nights and Hot Fudge at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival. Rhonda is currently an educational assistant at Morden Collegiate, where she feeds her theatre addiction by stage managing school productions including West of Pecos, The Sound of Music, A Christmas Carol, Guys and Dolls, 1837: The Farmers’ Revolt, and most recently A Midsummer Night’s Fever.  
Gerald Pauls (Director) Gerald is directing his third show with Poor Theatre Company. He previously directed Nurse Jane Goes to Hawaii and Welcome to the Monkey House. Gerald has been a drama instructor at Morden Collegiate where he directed productions of Grease, West of Pecos, The Sound of Music, Agatha Rex, The Lysistrata Project, Arthur, and Belonging. Prior to teaching in Morden, Gerald was Technical Director of Theatre at Goshen College in Indiana, where his production credits include As You Like It, The Pirates of Penzance, Tiger at the Gates, Pygmalion, Twilight: Lost Angeles 1992, Dancing at Lughnasa, and The Boys Next Door. Gerald has also collaborated as a performer and director with numerous theatre companies in Winnipeg and beyond, including the Black Hole Theatre, Assiniboine Theatre’s Shakespeare in the Park, Prairie Theatre Exchange, Manitoba Summer Theatre, English Suitcase Theatre Company of Surrey, England, and Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie from Edmonton. Gerald has studied theatre at the University of Manitoba and in the Graduate Studies Program at the University of Alberta. He currently teaches drama at Garden Valley Collegiate in Winkler where he most recently directed a production of Godspell. He also performed in The Company’s production of Clue last fall.
Dawn Rigaux (Poster Design) An art teacher at Morden Collegiate, Dawn is getting involved with PTC for the first time this summer. She has previously designed posters for Morden Collegiate’s A Midsummer Night’s Fever and for The Company’s production of Clue. Dawn’s favourite artistic medium is watercolour.  
Krista Wiebe (Assistant Stage Manager, Stage Crew) This is Krista’s third year with PTC. She stage managed the 2005 production of Rumors, and was assistant stage manager for last year’s production of Nurse Jane Goes to Hawaii. Krista is a 2003 graduate of Morden Collegiate where she performed in West of Pecos and helped backstage in The Sound of Music. Krista works at Thornview Grocery.
